Wigan Rotarians to create a new community award in memory of the Queen

A spokesperson said: “The Rotary Club of Wigan along with millions of Rotarians worldwide send condolences to the Royal family at this sad time.
“Throughout her reign she has served the people of this country and the Commonwealth with dignity, humility and statesmanship of the highest level.

Hide Ad"The Rotary motto of service above self would be an appropriate epitaph for the Queen during her long reign.
“As we reflect on her 70 years on the throne and how she has dedicated herself to her duties, we realise that the world has changed at a breath-taking pace and she managed to navigate through all the changes.
“The celebrations for her platinum jubilee gave some indication of the affection and respect in which the Queen is held by the nation.
"During the celebration we had some insight into her work and her world: a life that has been spent in total public gaze.
