Makerfield by-election: Wigan Today exit poll predicts who could win after polls close
The results are in!
The results of Wigan Today's exit poll are in and it predicts a win for Labour's Andy Burnham.
But only because the right wing has been split. Almost 4,000 readers took part in the confidential survey - thank you all! - and while this is no way scientifically watertight, it does seem to reflect what many pundits have been predicting.

The poll shows Mr Burnham with 1,451 of the 3,956 votes cast, and Reform's Rob Kenyon polling 1,196.
However a late surge in popularity for the further-right Restore Britain candidate Rebecca Shepherd garners a further 512 votes.
Add the Reform and Restore figures together and they are more than Mr Burnham's total.
Here are the full exit poll results (poll closed at midnight):
Andy Burnham (Labour and Co-operative Party) - 1451
