Teenager denies fire bug attack on school

A teen has denied involvement in a fire which ravaged a Wigan primary school.

The Hindley 15-year-old appeared at Wigan Youth Court to plead not guilty to an arson attack on Ashton’s RL Hughes Primary last December which caused an estimated £90,000 in damages. The boy, of no fixed address, will face a trial at the same court on June 29.

He has also denied an incident of causing actual bodily harm which will be dealt with by trial at Wigan Youth Court on June 23; there are three counts of public order offences and two of criminal damage which will be tried on June 22.

He will also be at court on June 15 to face trial over another allegation of public disorder and one of common assault. And on May 25 he will face trial over an allegation of assault by beating.
