All lanes reopen after ‘emergency repairs’ on M6 between junctions 22 and 23

All lanes have reopened following “emergency repairs” on the M6 northbound.

Two out of three lanes were closed on the northbound carriageway between junctions 22 (Winwick) and 23 (Haydock) at approximately 3.15pm on Thursday (August 25).

National Highways said the closure was due to “emergency carriageway repairs,” resulting in delays of 30 minutes and eight miles of congestion.

All lanes reopened at around 3.40pm but heavy delays remained in the area, with motorists urged to plan extra time for their journeys.
