Trial date for Wigan man accused of mum-of-four's murder

A Wigan man accused of stabbing a mother to death will stand trial next year.

Dana Abdullah, 35, of no fixed address, has been charged with the murder of mother-of-four Avan Najmadeen.

Related: Wigan men arrested on suspicion of murderThe 32-year-old was found at her home on Glebedale Road, in Fenton, Stoke-on-Trent, at around 5pm on Monday last week.

She died as a result of multiple stab wounds.

Abdullah did not enter a plea when he appeared at Stafford Crown Court on Tuesday.

A pre-trial preparation hearing was scheduled for December 11, ahead of a trial starting on February 4.

He was remanded in custody until the next hearing.

Staffordshire Police are continuing to investigate what happened.
