Widow, 91, records touching song in tribute to late husband
Lilian Goulding, from Standish, recorded the track called I’ll Never Love Again Like I’ll Love You, in memory of her husband Ken who died six years ago.
The 91-year-old’s heartrending lyrics, such as “I’ll never give my heart to anybody new” and “I’ll never feel again the touch of your hand,” were turned into a touching song when Lilian stepped into the recording booth at the E Rooms in Skelmersdale last week.

Hide AdKen had seen Lilian, a lifelong singer, perform when she was 14 years old, and the pair were introduced to each other two years later during VJ Day celebrations in Lower Ince.
They went on their first date to the Ritz cinema several days later, and were married in 1948. They went on to have two children and three grandchildren, and were married for 65 years before Ken lost his battle with pneumonia and sepsis last year.
Mrs Goulding wrote the song in memory of her beloved Ken, and was able to get the song produced with the help of Wigan-based community interest company (CIC) Beautiful Creator.
Founded by Robert Winstanley, the CIC has an aim of supporting people from all walks of life to achieve their creative dreams.

Hide AdAnd Lilian was over the moon to have been given the chance to record her song in memory of Ken.
She said: “It’s terrible when you lose someone so close to you, it’s a very traumatic time, it takes a lot of getting over. Ken was intelligent, he was kind, he was thoughtful.
“Beautiful Creator, they’re making my wish come true. I’ve met some lovely people who have raised my spirits up to no end and are helping me make my dream come true.”
She added: “Robert is a wonderful young man, working with his mum Jeanette to help dreams come true for all sorts of people.”
