Wigan man's death sparks murder probe

Police investigating the death of a man in Wigan have determined that there are no suspicious circumstances involved.

A murder probe had initially been launched after the man, believed to be in his 50s, was found by an ambulance crew at a house in Earl Street, Swinley, at 10.15pm on Wednesday and they in turn contacted police.

A post mortem examination confirmed that the man did not die as a result of any suspicious injuries and a file will now be passed to the coroner.

A 30-year-old man had been arrested on suspicion of murder but has since been released without charge.
