Wigan set to bask in sunshine for another week
The soaring temperatures have brought hordes of people into parks and green spaces at lunchtime and the evening to enjoy the delightful weather.
Easterly winds will bring temperatures down slightly but the weekend and into the early part of next week promises to remain sunny and warm.

Hide AdForecasts earlier in the week for thunderstorms are looking “less likely”.
A spokesman for the Met Office said: “It’s staying sunny and warm and dry for most (into next week),” she said.
“There is a small risk of seeing some showers developing in the far south-west but otherwise it will be dry.”
