First opened by owner Robin Torr, the firm has grown and expanded to offer a wider range of services to the local community and the wider Wigan area.

The firm originally started doing a mixture of high street work, property work and wills until 2025 when it expanded and started doing commercial property, and has now expanded once again to include litigation and dispute resolution work.

Matthew Taylor, an associate solicitor at Pilgrim Hope and a member of the new dispute resolution team, said: “We’re not some distant faceless organisation who can only be reached by phone or Teams, you can actually pop in and see us and have a brew.

“That isn’t always guaranteed these days when you work with a business.”

On the reason for the firm’s success, Matthew said: “Robin is the key because he’s a successful businessman, he’s clever and good at what he does.

“He’s been able to run this business successfully to the point where he can expand quite quickly and quite recently as well.

“He’s gone from being a one man band through to employing multiple people across a wide range of areas and he’s passed down his work ethic.”

To celebrate this new expansion, the firm invited all local businesses down for a launch party.

Some of the businesses in attendance included local estate agents, mortgage brokers and charities.

The party included a talk from the owner Robin Torr about the firm and its history, as well as a talk from the head of the new dispute resolution team.

Additionally, there was lots of food, networking and even a raffle that locals enjoyed.

Matthew said: “We wanted to let everyone in the community know that we are here and that we offer this broad range of services now, we’re no longer just a one man band.

“If people need our help either as a business or as an individual, if it’s a personal issue that they need help with, then that’s something we can help with as well.”
