Woman admits fraud

A WOMAN has admitted befriending a man battling profound mental health issues only to steal from him.

Beverley Anne Pasquill - who gave her name in the court as Beverley Anne Dewitt - admitted taking a total of £1,100 in instalments from the bank account of pensioner Kenneth Hankey when she appeared before Wigan and Leigh Magistrates’ Court.

The 33-year-old will now appear again on September 23 for sentencing.

Pasquill, of Browning Avenue, Atherton, was said to have her own mental health issues.

And both had met originally while they were receiving treatment at Leigh Infirmary’s psychiatric unit.

She pleaded guilty to 13 counts of breach of trust theft from Mr Hankey in separate denominations ranging from £20 to £200 over a year-long period.
