5 Greek islands have been removed from the UK’s quarantine list
Five Greek Islands have been removed from the quarantine list for England, Wales and Northern Ireland, which means travellers returning from these destinations will not have to self-isolate once home.
Holidaymakers returning from the Greek islands of Lesbos, Tinos, Serifos, Santorini and Zakynthos will no longer have to quarantine for a period of 14 days on return to England, Wales or Northern Ireland.

Drop in coronavirus cases
The changes come after a drop in new coronavirus infections in the popular Greek tourist destinations, and will come into effect at 4am on Saturday 10 October.
According to the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control, there were 4,754 confirmed coronavirus cases in Greece in the last 14 days.
However, all of Greece, including the islands, are currently not on Scotland’s travel corridor list, meaning those returning from any destination within Greece will have to self-isolate. Greece was removed from Scotland’s travel corridor list on 1 September, and no amendments have been made since.

Although numerous Greek islands have now been removed from the quarantine list in England, Wales and NI, some remain on it.
Mykonos and Crete are currently still included, which means travellers will have to continue to isolate for a period of 14 days when they return home after a visit.
The Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) continues “to advise against all but essential travel to the islands of Mykonos and Crete.
“This is based on the current assessment of COVID-19 risks. Mainland Greece and all other Greek islands are exempt from the FCDO’s advice against all non-essential international travel.”
