Beware or we'll be burned, warns Wigan Athletic chief
Leam Richardson has warned his Wigan Athletic defence they'll have to be on their game this weekend - or face being burned by Will Grigg.
The Northern Ireland international has endured a frustrating couple of years since leaving Wigan for Sunderland just over two years ago.
He was loaned out to MK Dons in January, and three goals in his last four matches shows he's not forgotten where the back of the net is.
And as he prepares to return to the DW for the first time in an opposition shirt, Richardson is expecting the striker to pose a huge threat to Latics' hopes of getting back to winning ways.
"Will's a cracking lad, and I enjoyed every single day of working with him," said Richardson, who was pipped to Grigg's loan signature on deadline day.
"He's a fantastic professional and it'll be great to see him on Saturday.
"Fingers crossed we can keep him quiet, and he can draw a blank on the day.
"But we know it'll be a tough test, and MK Dons will offer a different type of test to the last couple of sides we've faced.
"We know we'll have to be bang at it if we want to get a result.
"The first thing we need to do is digest Tuesday night's disappointment.
"Then later in the week we'll meet that challenge head on for the weekend.
"These lads have got to roll up their sleeves, they've got to fight and they've got to find a way.
"At the moment, we're finding a way to do the opposite.
"We know everyone's written us off, but at the same time that means we have nothing to lose."
