'Full focus' for Wigan Athletic ace following transfer window 'uncertainty'
Morgan Fox is happy to let football do the talking again after his Wigan Athletic future appeared to be in some doubt.
The experienced defender – who arrived from Queens Park Rangers in the summer of 2025 – was strongly linked with a move away from Wigan in the closing days of the summer transfer window.

Having began the season at the heart of the backline, Fox was left out of the matchday squad – despite being fully fit – for the two games directly before the deadline.
Latics went on to lose both games against Leyton Orient and Wimbledon.
Reported interest from both Luton Town and MK Dons amounted to nothing before the window closed and Fox has played the last three matches, helping Latics to pick up four points.
He says his focus remains entirely on football despite the outside noise.
“I’ve been in and around football long enough now to just get on with it,” he said. “You do what you can with what you can influence and that’s all you can do.
“I’m back in the team, back on the pitch, Wigan was where I wanted to play my football and I’m delighted that’s still the case.
“My family’s up here, we love living up here and I’m loving being here. Obviously results haven’t all been brilliant this season and you try not to take that home with you, but it is hard not to.”
With Latics boss Gary Caldwell admitting ‘everybody can get bought, everybody can get sold’ during a transfer window, Fox admits it wasn’t an ideal backdrop to start the campaign.
“I know the gaffer mentioned it, that transfer windows are so uncertain, with so much that can happen at every level,” he said.
“Who knows what’s going on and what’s not going on? I just tried to keep my focus, train as hard as I could and be ready for the game if selected.
“Until someone tells you differently, that’s what you have to do and there’s no problem with that. I feel I’ve still got a key role to play in this team and that’s all I’m focused on doing.”
