Pundit reveals Wigan Athletic scoreline prediction ahead of huge relegation battle against Barnsley

Wigan Athletic will look to continue their push away from the relegation zone this weekend, as they look to get sufficient points on the table to see their potential 12-point reduction not be enough to drag them into the bottom three.

Writing for Sky Sports, pundit David Prutton has tipped the Latics to make it two wins on the trot, opting for a narrow 1-0 win for Paul Cook's side.

Justifying his pick, the ex-Leeds United man claimed: "Barnsley created enough chances to beat Luton several times over on Tuesday, but could only end up scraping a late draw that leaves them four points adrift of safety."

"Wigan just need to keep winning, and see what happens. They have a great run of games coming up and look in good form still. I think they will win here.

Elsewhere, Prutton has predicted wins for the likes of Middlesbrough, West Bromwich Albion, and Brentford.
