Wimbledon started well with striker Joe Pigott firing inches wide of the post, but the rest of the first half passed by with relatively little in the way of goings-on.

A nice passing move from Latics ended with Lee Evans side-footing way off target, before the visitors lost Gavin Massey just before the break to a hamstring injury.

Evans came a lot closer four minutes after the restart when he whipped in a free-kick that was clawed away by the home goalkeeper.

A few Latics men were claiming the ball had crossed the line, but the referee was unmoved.

However, Latics weren't to be denied on 58 minutes, when a Viv Solomon-Otabor cross found Dan Gardner - who'd replaced Massey - at the far post.

The midfielder bided his time before laying it off to Proctor, who wrong-footed the goalkeeper with a cool finish from 10 yards.

Proctor deserved his goal for his efforts ploughing the lone furrow, and he eventually gave way to Joe Dodoo with 17 minutes to go.

But the home side were asking questions in the final quarter, and the defence cracked - for the first time in 330 minutes - when George Dobson planted a cracking header past Jamie Jones to rescue a point.
