REPORT: Northampton 0 Wigan Athletic 1
There had been precious little between the sides in a desperately poor game played out in freezing conditions at Sixfields.
Latics had come closest to scoring inside the first five minutes, when Will Keane's run had opened up the home defence, and led to Thelo Aasgaard firing towards an unguarded goal - only for the ball to strike Lang, who couldn't get out of the way.

Hide AdBut the young striker made amends with eight minutes to go, capitalising on a mistake in the home defence to race in on goal, and hold off the last defender before rifling into the bottom corner of the net.
In between those chances, neither goalkeeper had to make a save resembling the name as both attacks struggled to get going.
But Latics will take the long-awaited victory - their first of 2021 - to rise to fourth-bottom in League One, with only goal difference keeping them in the drop zone.
