Latics continued their impressive recent run with a 3-0 drubbing of the Royals at the Madejski Stadium.

After Kieffer Moore opened the scoring midway through the first half, Lowe added number two himself at the three-quarter mark with a smart volley.

Michael Jacobs made it 3-0 in stoppage-time with a clever chip over the advancing goalkeeper - sealing Wigan's biggest win of the campaign.

Much of the gloss was taken off the result with Chey Dunkley being stretchered off late on with a suspected broken leg.

But skipper Sam Morsy has already tweeted about the desire in the squad to complete the job of avoiding relegation for their stricken team-mate.

And Lowe says the standard has now been set for the rest of the season.

Reading was one of the best all-round performances we have had, and it had been coming," he said.

"We are on a decent little run, and on Wednesday we took it to the next level.

“Teams will be looking over their shoulder because we are not going to stop.

"We will run to the last minute, we will work to the last minute and fight to the last minute.

“It is about us and making sure we maintain a level.”
