Wigan Athletic up and running in the league after comfortable win over MK Dons
Jensen Weir scored a brilliant brace and Max Power a vicious volley as Wigan Athletic secured their first League One points of the campaign at the fourth attempt via a 3-1 victory over MK Dons at the Brick Community Stadium.
Weir scored his first goal nine minutes before the interval with a superb curling effort from 25 yards out off Power’s sideways pass.

Power himself added the second goal three minutes after the restart with a volley from similar distance after a corner was only half-cleared.
And Weir made the points safe with 16 minutes to go with another fine right-footed strike from just inside the box, with substitute Brad Burrowes – a deadline-day signing from Aston Villa – supplying the assist with his first touch.
Aaron Collins pulled one back for the Dons with nine minutes left after he outpaced the Latics cover.
But not even a yellow card for Gary Caldwell, followed by a caution and then a red card for assistant David Perkins could ruin a great night for the home side.
