Wigan Athletic boss provides Max Power and Ryan Trevitt injury updates ahead of Bromley - 'Might be available'

Gary Caldwell has provided an injury update from within the Wigan Athletic camp ahead of Saturday’s meeting with Bromley at the Brick Community Stadium

Wigan Athletic boss Gary Caldwell says midfield duo Max Power and Ryan Trevitt ‘might be available’ for Saturday’s home clash against Bromley.

Power has been sidelined since the 1-0 defeat at Stevenage earlier this month, while Trevitt has only featured once this season - a substitute appearance in the 2-0 home defeat to Leyton Orient at the end of August.

However, young talent Charlie Gray - on loan from Manchester City - will be back from suspension after picking up five yellow cards.

“Charlie will be available because he was obviously suspended,” Caldwell said after Wigan’s 3-0 defeat at Leicester on Tuesday night.

“Fraser (Murray) has his last game (of suspension) on Saturday. Max Power has been training more this week, so might be available for Saturday.

“Ryan Trevitt has been training more, might be available for Saturday.

“Luke Harris is still probably four or five weeks away from being available to play, but he is back out on the grass and moving, so the quicker we can get them back, the better.”

Trevitt showed promising signs of what he is capable of during his loan spell last season, but his injury record is a slight cause for concern, with Caldwell airing a cautious approach regarding his full return.

He said: “We’ve tried to look at everything really to help Ryan, and he seems in a good place again.

“But when he gets back to playing, that is the dangerous moment, that we have to really look after his training loads and really make sure that he is in a good place to try and get a run of consistency in terms of games and being available.

“When he is (available), for me, he is one of the best midfielders in the league and again, another big player, that if we can get these players back, it creates real competition and quality in the squad.”
