Robinson, 40, has signed a three-year contract to lead the John Smith’s Stadium outfit, succeeding Ian Watson, who departed the club in July.
Born in Halifax, Robinson was picked up by Wigan as a junior and progressed through the club’s ranks before making his debut during the 2002 Super League season, aged just 17.

Hide AdHe went on to make 47 appearances for the Warriors until a move to Salford in 2005.
Representing England on the international stage, Robinson enjoyed his longest stint with Huddersfield with more than 200 appearances
He retired from playing in 2016 but stayed with Giants on the coaching staff, including a previous interim spell in charge of the Super League club in 2020.
"I am beyond honoured to have been offered the head coach role and to have the support of Ken Davy (Giants owner) and the rest of the board,” Robinson said.

Hide Ad"We've not had a great season but I hope that the fans can see the amount of effort the players have given me over the past few weeks and when we have our injured players back in contention and have made a few personnel changes, I truly believe we can have a great pre-season and really hit the ground running.
"At this point though my focus is on ending the season well in our last three games and giving the fans the excitement I feel about heading into the 2025 campaign.”
