Former Wigan Warriors prop signs up for new America league

Ex-Wigan prop Eddy Pettybourne has become the most high-profile player to sign for the new North American Rugby League competition.

The ex-USA international, who played for Wigan in 2014, has penned a two-year deal with the Brooklyn Kings.

Pettybourne, 33, will join the Kings upon the end of the Elite One Championship, relocating from France to Brooklyn. He played for Souths, Wests and Gold Coast in the NRL.

“I’m very excited to be joining a great organization in the Brooklyn Kings,” Pettybourne said.

“It’s always been a passion and dream of mine to give back to the game of rugby league in America."

The 14-team NARL will feature Toronto Wolfpack and Ottawa as well as teams in locations such as New York, Brooklyn, Las Vegas, San Fransico, Atlanta and Phoenix.
