Gildart, who is out of contract at the end of this season, will speak to Wigan before making a decision on his future.

“I think both (Saints and Wests) are interested, nothing has been written down but my agent has let me know both are keen,” he said.

“I’ve got to go through talks with Wigan and see what the best option is.”

Gildart, Super League’s reigning Young Player of the Year, has already played in two Grand Finals, a Challenge Cup Final and a World Club Challenge.

He has never shied away from the fact he would like to have a crack at the NRL at some stage.

“I’m open minded,” said the academy-graduate, who scored two tries against Castleford last Friday.

“I’ve been at Wigan a long time and I do love playing here – but I would like to go to Australia as well, so I don’t know to be honest.

“It’s daunting sometimes because you don’t know what you’re doing, but it’s nice to know other teams want you.

“l’ll just concentrate on rugby. I’m not in a rush to decide.”

Full-back Sam Tomkins, expected to join Catalans, and prop Ryan Sutton are also out of contract. John Bateman has a clause allowing him to move to the NRL if a fee is paid.
