Their Canberra Raiders side were beaten 30-10 by Melbourne Storm in today's semi-final, ending hopes they would reach the decider.

It brings their season to an end and, with no England matches this autumn, it means Bateman's next match will be in Wigan colours.

He is returning to his former club Wigan after two years in the NRL. His former Warriors team-mate Williams has completed his debut season Down Under, in which he has impressed many observers.

The Raiders - beaten Grand Finalists last year - had reached the semi-final after overcoming Cronulla and Sydney Roosters.

But they were well out-played by the Storm, who led 16-0 midway through the first-half.

Ex-Warrior Ryan Sutton didn't play as he is injured. Penrith face Souths in the other semi-final tomorrow.
