O'Loughlin cleared after complaint

The RFL has cleared Warriors captain Sean O'Loughlin of any wrongdoing following into an investigation into an incident in last week's Challenge Cup quarter-final.

A member of the public lodged a complaint after Wigan’s 26-12 win over Castleford, which was screened live by the BBC, over an incident involving the skipper.

The RFL’s statement read: “The RFL can confirm that it received a complaint from a member of the public regarding an incident during the Wigan v Castleford Ladbrokes Challenge Cup Quarter Final,” it said in a statement.

“The RFL Compliance Unit undertook preliminary investigations, viewed footage of the incident and spoke with the referee and clubs concerned and it was clear that there was no evidence of any infringement of the Operational Rules.

“As such, the RFL will not be commenting any further on this matter.”
