Who Wigan Warriors could face in Super League semi-finals with top six confirmed

Super League’s top six have been confirmed following Leigh’s win over St Helens.

Matt Peet’s side finished the regular campaign top of the table to claim back-to-back League Leaders’ Shields for the first time, securing a home semi-final tie on Saturday, October 5, kick off 5.30pm on Sky Sports and BBC Two.

Defending their Super League title, the Cherry and Whites will play the lowest-ranked winner of the eliminator play-offs.

Hull KR finished the campaign in second spot following their 26-16 win over Leeds Rhinos at Craven Park, and will play their semi-final on October 5.

Following their 18-12 result at the Leigh Sports Village, Adrian Lam’s side moved to fifth on the table, while Saints dropped to sixth - with Catalans Dragons requiring a miracle at the MKM Stadium on Saturday against Hull FC with a huge points difference gap.

So it means in-form Warrington Wolves will host Paul Wellens’ St Helens, while fourth-placed Salford will play the Leopards at the AJ Bell Stadium for a place in the semi-finals.

If successful, rivals Saints could travel to Wigan for a spot at Old Trafford - having finished the campaign as the lowest-ranked team.

However, if Sam Burgess’ Warrington progress, having been on the right side of the score in three fixtures against Saints in 2024, Wigan will play the winners of Leigh versus Salford at the Brick Community Stadium.

The semi-final winners will meet at Old Trafford in the Super League Grand Final on Saturday, October 12.
