Wigan Warriors get green-light to reopen Robin Park HQ

Players returned to training today after Wigan received the green-light to reopen their Robin Park HQ.

The centre had been closed for 10 days following an outbreak of Covid-19.

But after a second wave of tests – and a deep clean of the facility – the RFL’s Multiple Cases Group granted the Warriors permission for a return to training.

They had a “graded return” back to pre-season, meaning the players trained in batches to limit contact within the squad.

Leeds and Huddersfield recently took similar action.

Wigan are preparing for the start of the new Super League campaign on March 26.

They have yet to confirm any pre-season matches although they have held talks with Salford about a match-up.

The annual Capital Challenge against London Skolars will not take place this year due to the pandemic.
