Wigan Warriors tracking NRL player for 2021

Wigan have been linked with a move for Parramatta's Jai Field.

It is understood the club have the 22-year-old on the radar for next season should they need reinforcements, League Express reported today.

Field - who has played 14 NRL matches - can play at fullback, wing or halfback.

It is unclear whether Thomas Leuluai will play on next season while Jackson Hastings has a release clause allowing him to leave for the NRL at the end of this year.

And although 20-year-old Harry Smith looks poised to take one of the spots, there still may be another vacancy in the halfback roles.

Wigan have already recruited forward John Bateman for 2021 and it is understood they have agreed a deal with Toronto's Brad Singleton, though that has not been confirmed.

Field, who had previously been linked with Leeds, also has options in the NRL.
