Leeds Rhinos v Wigan Warriors team news as Matt Peet makes one change to 21-man squad

The 21-man squads are in for Saturday’s top of the table clash between Leeds Rhinos and Wigan Warriors

Wigan Warriors coach Matt Peet has made one change to his 21-man squad for Saturday’s trip to Leeds Rhinos, having been boosted by the return of Junior Nsemba.

The Cherry and Whites are able to welcome powerhouse forward Nsemba back into their 21-man squad, with the England international set to play his first game since Wigan’s win over St Helens at Magic Weekend on July 5, having been sidelined by a hamstring injury since that derby victory.

Nsemba replaces youngster Josh Cartwright in the only change to Peet’s 21-man squad that beat a youthful Hull KR side 46-0 last Thursday.

Meanwhile, Leeds welcome back Super League’s leading try-scorer Maika Sivo, who has recovered from a broken arm, while back-rower James McDonnell could face his former club Wigan after being named in Brad Arthur’s 21-man squad following a pectoral injury.

Rhinos hooker Danny Levi will not feature after suffering a setback on his return last week in their win at St Helens.

A capacity crowd will be at AMT Headingley to see the top two in Super League go head-to-head in a shootout for the League Leaders’ Shield. Saturday will mark the first time the stadium has sold out for a Super League fixture since the opening round of the 2020 campaign.

Leeds and Wigan have met once this season, with the Warriors having claimed a 24-4 victory at the Brick Community Stadium a fortnight before they lifted the Challenge Cup back in May.

Leeds: Lachie Miller, Maika Sivo, Harry Newman, Ash Handley, Ryan Hall, Brodie Croft, Jake Connor, Mikolaj Oledzki, Jarrod O’Connor, Tom Holroyd, Kallum Watkins, James McDonnell, Chris Hankinson, Cooper Jenkins, Cameron Smith, Presley Cassell, Tom Nicholson-Watton, Fergie McCormack, Zak Lloyd, Matt Lodge, Jack Bird.

Wigan: Jai Field, Zach Eckersley, Adam Keighran, Jake Wardle, Liam Marshall, Bevan French, Harry Smith, Ethan Havard, Brad O’Neill, Luke Thompson, Junior Nsemba, Kaide Ellis, Sam Walters, Patrick Mago, Ollie Partington, Sam Eseh, Kian McDermott, Taylor Kerr, George O’Loughlin, Austin Daniel, Shea O’Connor.

The Round 26 Super League fixture takes place at a sold-out AMT Headingley on Saturday evening, 8pm kick-off. The game will be broadcast live on the Sky Sports + Channel and Sky Sports Action.
