Homegrown winger Eckersley has enjoyed an outstanding year after being given the number two jersey ahead of this season, scoring 35 tries in 30 appearances across all competitions.

The 22-year-old helped Warriors lift the Challenge Cup at Wembley back in May, as well as playing a key role in Wigan regaining the League Leaders’ Shield.

Meanwhile, O’Neill has been a standout performer for Matt Peet’s side this term, making 29 appearances across all competitions, starting all 29 of those and regularly churning out big minutes at nine.

The 24-year-old has already played 122 games for the Warriors since making his first-team debut back in 2021, and has two Super League titles, three League Leaders’ Shields, three Challenge Cups and a World Club Challenge title to his name.

Eckersley and O’Neill are involved in the Super League Dream Team for the first time.

Leeds Rhinos have dominated this year’s Super League Dream Team, with six of their players selected in the shape of Lachie Miller, Maika Sivo, Ash Handley, Brodie Croft, Jake Connor and James McDonnell.

Leigh Leopards have two players in Super League’s all-star side, with Umyla Hanley at centre and Joe Ofahengaue at prop.

France international Mathieu Jussaume has earned a spot in the back-row after an impressive campaign with Toulouse Olympique, while Wakefield Trinity prop Caleb Hamlin-Uele, who is hoping to represent England at the World Cup this autumn, is named in the front-row alongside Ofahengaue.

England international Ben Currie is Warrington Wolves’ sole representative in what is the first time he has been included in the Dream Team since his debut back in 2016.

Connor - the reigning Steve Prescott MBE Man of Steel - is one of three players to keep his spot from the 2025 Dream Team, along with Leeds teammate McDonnell and Leigh centre Hanley.

The selection process for the Dream Team has adopted a new approach this year with, for the first time, supporters getting the chance to vote.

The Man of Steel panel - Ellery Hanley MBE, Paul Sculthorpe MBE, Joe Lydon, James Roby and Sam Tomkins - accounted for 50 per cent of the overall weighting.

Selected members of the media then contributed 30 per cent, while fans, via the Super League website, made up the final 20 per cent of the vote, which organisers say was part of a change to help reflect a combination of expert knowledge, independent media opinion and views of fans who follow events week to week.

2026 Super League Dream Team: Lachie Miller (Leeds); Zach Eckersley (Wigan), Umyla Hanley (Leigh), Ash Handley (Leeds), Maika Sivo (Leeds); Brodie Croft (Leeds), Jake Connor (Leeds); Joe Ofahengaue (Leigh), Brad O’Neill (Wigan), Caleb Hamlin-Uele (Wakefield), James McDonnell (Leeds), Mathieu Jussaume (Toulouse), Ben Currie (Warrington).
