Wigan Warriors suffer huge Jake Wardle blow as Matt Peet provides injury update
Wigan Warriors star Jake Wardle has been sidelined with a calf injury
Wigan Warriors have suffered a significant blow to strike centre Jake Wardle, who has been sidelined with a calf injury.

The England international was a notable absentee from the Wigan teamsheet for their clash with Leeds Rhinos on Saturday evening, with Peet revealing that Wardle had sustained a calf injury in training earlier this week.
As a result, young winger Austin Daniel replaced Wardle in the starting 13, with Zach Eckersley moving into the centres.
Speaking to Sky Sports ahead of their clash with Leeds at AMT Headingley, Peet revealed that Wardle is set to miss around five weeks of action, while academy graduate George O’Loughlin also had to withdraw through injury as well.
“First session this week early on, he tweaked his calf,” Peet told Sky Sports. “Five weeks, maybe, we’re expecting. It’s difficult. We put George O’Loughlin in, and he’s pulled out injured as well.”
The Round 26 Super League fixture takes place at AMT Headingley on Saturday evening, 8pm kick-off. The match will be broadcast live on the Sky Sports + Channel and Sky Sports Action.
