Wigan Warriors trio heading to play rugby league in Papua New Guinea

Oliver Gildart is among three Wigan players heading on tour to Papua New Guinea.

Sam Powell and Tom Davies have also been included in the second-string England Knights squad for the autumn trip.

Coach Paul Anderson has named the trio in his 24-man touring party for the two matches against the Kumuls, on Saturday October 27 in Lae and then Port Moresby a week later.

They will spend a week training at Brisbane Broncos’ training facilities in the build-up to the tour.

The England Knights has been revived this year to provide a pathway into the full England side.

Ex-Warrior Jack Hughes, now at Warrington, will captain the Knights and former GB captain Paul Sculthorpe will be assistant coach.
