Support for Wigan borough’s army of unpaid carers can be shown by attending a slap-up Indian banquet
Residents are invited to enjoy an evening of great food while supporting an important local cause at a special fund-raising evening in aid of Wigan and Leigh Carers Centre, organised as part of the Mayor of Wigan's Charity Appeal.
The event will take place on Thursday November 19 at the popular Barbar Indian Restaurant, on Up Holland Road, Billinge.
Guests will be welcomed from 7pm for a 7.30pm start and will enjoy a delicious two-course Indian meal while helping to raise valuable funds for Wigan and Leigh Carers Centre (WLCC): a charity that is dedicated to supporting the large number of unpaid carers who live in the borough.
Tickets are priced at £40 per person, with all proceeds contributing to the Mayor's charitable fund-raising efforts and supporting the vital work carried out by WLCC.
The evening offers an excellent opportunity for local residents, businesses, community groups and supporters to come together in a relaxed setting, enjoy outstanding cuisine, and make a positive difference to the lives of carers throughout Wigan and Leigh.
Michael Winstanley OBE, who is the secretary of the charity committee and a former mayor of Wigan himself, said:
"This promises to be a wonderful evening of good food, good company and community spirit.
“We hope people from across the borough will join us to help raise funds for Wigan and Leigh Carers Centre and recognise the incredible contribution that unpaid carers make every day."
