UK's largest padel tournament Crown Padel began in Wigan
From humble beginnings in Wigan to a nationwide tour, Crown Padel has become the largest padel tournament in the UK. Discover its journey and future ambitions.
In 2025, Crown Padel Tour started with one simple idea: create the kind of competitive padel events that players genuinely looked forward to.
It began on just two courts at Padel Parx in Wigan, where the first tournaments were held and the foundations of the brand were built.
At the time, I wasn’t trying to build a nationwide tour.
I simply wanted to create events that felt more professional, more competitive and more memorable than what was already available.
Better branding, better organisation, proper prize money, rankings that meant something and an experience players would want to come back for.

The first events were far from perfect. There were mistakes, long days, sleepless nights and plenty of moments where I questioned whether it would work. But every tournament taught me something, and every player who entered helped shape what Crown has become.
One year later, Crown has expanded far beyond Wigan.
We’ve hosted events across the UK, introduced a national ranking system, attracted hundreds of competitors and built partnerships with clubs, coaches, sponsors and content creators (even some celebrities such as: Jamie Ohara, Scott Thomas and Matt Killgallon).
The launch of the Crown Padel Cup marks another milestone in that journey, with the ambition of creating one of the UK’s premier knockout competitions.
What people see on an event day is only a small part of the story.
Behind every tournament are months of planning, huge financial risk, early mornings, late nights and a lad from Wigan who just believes in the vision.
This isn’t the finish line. It’s just the beginning.

The goal has always been bigger than running tournaments.
It’s about helping raise the standard of competitive padel in the UK and building something that players are proud to be part of.
And to think… it all started on two courts in Wigan.
