Now the Trafford Centre has announced on Twitter: "As from today, intu Trafford Centre  will no longer be part of the intu family, however the centre will continue to run as normal under new management.

"Stay tuned here for all the latest news and exciting changes that will take place at The Trafford Centre."

It is not known who the new owners or operators are.

Intu Properties plc owned and operated 17 shopping centres across the UK including Lakeside, Merry Hill and MetroCentre, in addition to a shopping centre and development site in Spain.

Each of the shopping centres is owned individually by special purpose vehicles (“Propcos”) which are outside of any insolvency process.
