Sentence awaits two Wigan borough men who admit to causing an assault victim serious injury

Prosecutors have accepted not guilty pleas to wounding with intent allegations after two Wigan borough men admitted to lesser but still serious charges of causing their victim grievous bodily harm
Two Wigan borough men are awaiting their fates after admitting to a savage attack.
Malcolm Platt, 53, and Martin Hughes, 34, both in Tyldesley, had initially been charged with intending to cause Adrian Naylor grievous bodily harm during an attack on July 6 last year.
But at a pre-trial preparation hearing at Bolton Crown Court, the pair entered guilty pleas to a lesser charge of GBH without intent and this was accepted by the prosecution.
They were therefore found not guilty of the even more serious offences.
Sentencing takes place on October 28.
