We have already reported on electric bikes being confiscated in Astley and in Platt Bridge over recent days.

Now, police have revealed that they also took off-road bikes from Higher Folds at the weekend.

A post on Wigan and Leigh police’s Facebook page said: “Due to the ongoing issues regarding off-road bikes and anti-social behaviour you reported, officers from the Leigh neighbourhood team have seized these bikes from the Higher Folds estate over the weekend.

“We continue to take positive action against nuisance vehicles and anti-social behaviour and those who choose to ride irresponsibly. If you have any information about off-road bike activity in your area, please continue to report it to us.

“If you know who is using e-bikes or motorcycles anti-socially or to commit crime, tell us. Report online or call GMP on 101, or 999 in an emergency. You can also contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111, or reach us via Bee in the Loop.”
