Wigan councillors take to the streets with police on ward walks

Councillors have teamed up with police officers to address residents’ concerns about crime, speeding and anti-social behaviour.

George Davies, Lawrence Hunt and Michael McLoughlin, who represent Wigan Central, have introduced ward walks with police to make it easier for Swinley residents to highlight concerns.

Coun Hunt said: “Ward walks are a great idea, which will help our residents feel much safer on our streets.”

The first walk was on Monday, October 17 from Mesnes Park Lodge and it will be repeated on the third Monday of each month.
