Wigan woman to take on unusual Guinness World Record involving a sticky note

A Wigan woman is attempting to break an unusual Guinness World Record for writing the most amount of words on a sticky note.
Eloise Morton, 35, from Hindley Green will officially be making her world record attempt on November 2, a task that she believes is completely possible due to already unofficially breaking the record.

She said: “I had a really slow day at work and it popped up on my news feed about the world record and it said on a video that it was 150 words. I just thought that I could probably do that, so I just did.”
“I contacted Guinness and they said that the record is currently 166 words, I thought I could probably do that too, so I just sat at my desk in work and between answering phone calls I wrote down 209 words with loads of space to spare.”
The official Guinness rules state that the words must be a minimum of three letters, in English, and they must be unique (not repeated).
Eloise is aiming for 276 words in total for her world record attempt.
She said: “I wish I could say it was really exciting, but it’s really not. It’s pretty boring as world records go, but if I could do it, how cool would that be?”

Another reason why Eloise is taking on the record is for her daughter, Harper.
Eloise said: “She’s two in February, so she obviously doesn’t understand it but when she’s older, that’s going to be so cool.”
When making her attempt, Eloise must do it in front of two independent witnesses and have photographic and video evidence.
As a result, she will be taking on the challenge at St Michael’s Church in Howe Bridge on November 2.
On her friends and family’s opinions on the record attempt, she said: “They all think I’m insane. No, my husband is very supportive and says that Harper is going to love it. Whereas all my mates are like ‘Are you being serious, is this even a thing, are you mental?’
“I was like ‘Yes, I am mental. But also, this is probably the most sane thing I’ve ever said.”
Good luck to Eloise from everyone at The Wigan Post and Observer!
