Promotion memory is picture perfect for 'last survivor' Leam Richardson

Just three years ago, the Keepmoat Stadium was the venue as Latics secured promotion to the Championship with a 1-0 victory.

Richardson, then assistant to Paul Cook, is now the only remaining member of that promotion-winning squad.

“It’s quite surreal, there’s a photograph here of the lads lifting the trophy on the stage and I’m the only survivor,” he said.

“It was fantastic, for a Wigan supporter it couldn’t have been written any better, Will Grigg getting the winner and the celebrations which followed.

“It was a great day, but it’s now a different dugout - for their side as well - and a different team.

“We’ve been through quite a lot as a club, but fingers crossed we can go to the Keepmoat and get the same result.”
