But it was the visitors who managed to fashion a winning goal midway through the second period as Cauley Woodrow teed up Dan Casey to head home from close range.

It wasn’t the way Latics wanted to say goodbye to goalkeeping coach Kevin Miller, who passed away this week at the age of 57.

There was an emotional minute’s applause before kick-off and again on the 57-minute mark.

Wycombe also showed their respects as striker Jayden Wareham - who was a colleague of Miller's last season at Exeter City - placed a wreath behind one of the goals before kick-off.
