Off-season recruit Sam Walters also marked only his third appearance in cherry and white since his return from a broken collarbone, and is expected to make his home debut at The Brick Community Stadium on Friday.
“I’m going to continue to try and make the right choices with this week in mind, but also with long-term,” head coach Peet explained.

"We’ve got some young players who are working hard and probably deserve an opportunity, so the squad will reflect that.”
Peet continued to insist an important part of his job is communication, with a stacked squad competing weekly for 17 Super League places.

Hide AdOnly two players who were handed first-team numbers ahead of 2024 are yet to feature for the senior side in Harvey Makin and Sam Eseh, with the latter having recently made a four-week loan move to Leeds Rhinos.
The Wigan boss expanded: “I want players to be motivated, I want them to be improving and have purpose when they come into work. I also want them to feel that they’re contributing to the team and the whole club.
“I have a lot of little conversations with the players, I’ve had quite a few this week because we’re coming to a natural break next week.

“I think that’s a key part of my job, to communicate that clearly.”
