Erdei pleaded guilty to 22 counts of sexual offences against a child over an offending period from October 2024 to December 2024.

Erdei pleaded guilty to 13 counts of sexual activity with a child, eight counts of causing/inciting a child to engage in sexual activity and one count of causing a child to watch a sexual act.

He was arrested on suspicion of child sex offences against a child under the age of 16 after a report by a partner agency.

Investigators identified evidence of a range of sexual offending and submitted a case file to the CPS.

Detective Sergeant Pyke, of our Child Protection Investigation Unit based in Wigan, said: “My thoughts remain with the survivor concerned in this horrific case and their family.

“Erdei has showed clear intent and wilfully engaged in sexual offending against the most vulnerable of victims, a child.

“Protecting children will always be the highest priority at GMP and we will always take the strongest possible action where allegations of this nature are made.”
